Photographer's Note

This photo is taken underneath the magnificently preserved ruins of Bosra, in the deep south of Syria. The Bosra theatre is considered to be one of the finest existing Roman theatres in the world. - however it is even more unique in the fact that it was built completely freestanding rather than into the side of a mountain/hill, like so many theatres were built.

On this particular day, and like so many others in Syria, the ruins were pretty much abandoned - and I was one of the few non-Syrians to be at the site. I waited for a about 10 minutes to get this shot with the people passing through the narrow passageway, I hope you like the result.
