Photographer's Note

A capture I'd made in Kadikoy (Calchedon in the antiqe times) a quite popular district on the Asian Part of Istanbul.
It's street are full with artworks.
This one is one of them.

A marble block with a bronze alligator on top of it.
Ant this cute little girl with her mum tried to climb atop of the plate.
This bronze crocodile, only slightly over a metre long and rather chunky in appearance.
It sits on a large marble slab which has an inscription in Turkish.

Here's what Strabo said about this location:

"Here upon the mouth of the Pontus is situated Chalcedon, founded by the Megareans, the village Chrysopolis, and the Chalcedonian temple. In the country a little above the sea-coast is a fountain, Azaritia, which breeds small crocodiles.
