Photographer's Note

A fuss is always made when foliage changes colours with the arrival of autumn. Winter of 2017/2018 was highly variable and harsh; thus, the arrival of spring was also a special delight. The Vermilion Lakes, west of Banff, are a wonderful region to visit, especially on a warm and sunny day in spring. This view is to the south, and rising up, the prominence is known as Sanson Peak - some 2,271 metres in height or 7,451 feet. We had travelled west by car as far as possible, parked, and then continued the journey walking along the shoreline eastward. I needed the exercise.
