Abandoned in Vancouver

On our second day in Vancoucer we had, as you probably know, our second TE-meeting with Craig (he had taken a day off) and his wife Joanne. In the morning Craig took us to see some of less touristy parts around Vancouver and of course, our first stop was one of his favourite subjects: abandoned buildings. This is a part of Riverview Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam, a suburban city in the Metro Vancouver district.

This is part of West Lawn Building, built in 1913 and has been abandoned for several years now. It is located in a large area with numerous other hospital buildings, some of which are still in operation, others are now mainly used as filming locations, in fact a film was being shot there last month, although as we were there on a Sunday, we didn’t spot any film stars, only two guards, the first one told Craig he wasn’t allowed to park his car there, the second that it was not allowed to take pictures, but that was when we had already collected our photos.

I added an additional photo to the workshop.
