Photographer's Note

To forget the stark nakedness of our November,I've gone back to a May visit to the world-renowned Butchart Gardens in Victoria,British Columbia. To gardeners and photographers alike, this is a mecca destination for the variety of plant growth.
Benefiting from a unique warm micro-climate,this garden offers colourful blooms that we wouldn't see elsewhere in Canada until at least a month later.
Most of it is situated in a vast and deep abandoned quarry. You can explore more about this garden at this site: Butchart Gardens
One of the drawbacks of digital cameras on holiday is that you tend to be parsimonious with your resolution selection to save on memory and this shows in this photo of a tulip bed inter-planted with blue Forget-Me-Nots,overlooking a pond sheltered by cherry trees, rhododendrons and the quarry wall in the background.
