Photographer's Note

As with my previous post, its about time I upload more Blue Hour photos. My next 3 or 4 will be.

Blue hour is by far my favourite time of day to take photos, but for some reason I have been neglecting it this past year or so.

When I was out here a couple days ago, it reignited my passion for Blue Hour photography - made me wonder why on earth I stopped doing it.

Here is a shot I took in North Vancouver, at the Lonsdale Quay Market. A place where you can shop for food, and take a long walk along the waterfront with beautiful views of Vancouver. Its a popular spot for locals and tourists, however its harder to get here for tourists as its across the Bay from Vancouver - on the opposite of the city where most of the sights are. Take a look at the MAP view to see what i'm talking about, it'll be much clearer.

This scene taken at Blue Hour/Sunset, is one that i've been meaning to capture for a long time. When I was here setting up my tripod there were many people on the staircase...by the time I set up and got my composition, all the people had left.

I was upset, but people eventually came, but it was stressful because the blue hour lighting was fading fast. Luckily I was able to capture the silhouettes I wanted.

Another important feature is the top illuminated Neon sign...its actually SPINNING. So I tried to time my 2 second timer to capture the sign as it's facing me so we can read it. It all worked out :)

Oh, and yes, North Vancouver is a completely different city than Vancouver. See the Map feature.
