Photographer's Note

The West Edmonton Mall is touted as the largest "shopping and entertainment" complex in the world. (The competition is the Mall of America in Minnesota, which is slightly smaller but planned to undergo an addition.) Here is one of the distinguishing characteristics of the West Edmonton Mall -- an indoor water park. What you see is the "beach area" of the indoor wave pool, and some of the many slides. Since this is climate-controlled, it makes a lot of sense this far north. They report they keep the air and water heated to 30C (86 F), though I find it to feel more like 25C (76F).

I was suprised when I browsed Edmonton that there were no other photos of the Mall. So here you go...
