Photographer's Note

Another shot for the scavenger hunt. Again, like the last, taken from a moving car. And again I was the passenger, not the driver. I just thought I'd post this because I don't know if I'll get another chance for a stormy like shot before the end of the month. And this was such an interesting sky.

It reminded me of the scene from the recent disaster flick, The Day After Tomorrow. Specifically the Los Angeles scene with clouds churning and turning and dropping down tornados all over the city. And even all the additional swirl patterns in the distance added even more to that feel.

Nothing so disastrous happened this day. In fact it didn't even rain where we were as we skirted this interesting formation. We ran into this after beating the sun home from Lansing, 90 miles northwest, and within a couple hours the sunshine and beautiful day had caught up to us here in Detroit without any major storms reported.

And since this was again taken through the windshield I ran auto-levels, re-sized, corrected for color cast and ran auto-levels and sharpened.

Luckily since I took this by Exit 8 I can tell exactly where I was for this shot.
