Photographer's Note

This is a part of a remaining wall of a pioneer log cabin now part of a public restroom in St. Charles, MO. The marks on the logs remain as evidence of the hand-hewing work of some home builder long ago. I was primarily shooting textures this day. This is actually a color photo, but the sun has bleached all the color from this old wood. One can only imagine how many hours of sweat and muscle must have been spent just to build this one small piece of wall. I'm glad the city has endeavored this piece of history for us to see today. I like the way the shadows add an element of life to this scene.
