Photographer's Note

In the city that never sleeps, all the sleepless people do one thing in common: moving. I thought the idea of transportation was the one thing that made New York City what it is. In this, snapshot I tried to capture the racing taxi cabs as they hurried to drop their passengers off so they could pick up another quickly. Thus, the age old saying comes into play. Time is money.

Here are some interesting facts about the iconic New York City taxis:

12,000 Taxi Cabs in New York

40,000 Taxi Drivers

30 Taxi rides given by a taxi driver a day. (Average)

1 BILLION USD, is the revenue of the taxi rides.

180 MILES driven by a taxi driver a day. (Average)

250 MILLION People Ride NYC taxis every year.

NOTE: I panned the camera as the taxis raced after the Green light turned on. Exposure Time: 1/15s.
