Photographer's Note

The most common question people have asked about my trip to Alaska is about the sunlight. It varies depending on your location within the state. This location, approximately 150 mile south of Dead Horse and 350 miles north of Fairbanks is well within the Artic Circle. At this time of the year, the sun does not set here, it mearly orbits through the sky.

This picture was taken at midnight just to be able to show how bright it is here at this time of the year. On this particular night, I sought the shadow of a mountain so that the sun would not be in my eyes while sleeping.
