Photographer's Note

I stopped by the San Anselmo library yesterday to return a book. I didn't want to leave my camera in the car so I carried it with me. After dropping off my book I paused to check new books, relaxing in one of the arm chairs available for patrons as I browsed the shelves. It was when I glanced up that I noticed this woman doing the same thing in the stacks at the rear of the library. Not wanting to draw attention to myself I stepped to one side near another set of bookcases and took this image.

I like the way the light from the arched window in the background highlights the books while silhouetting the woman, who was completely unaware of the liberty I was taking. Of course, we were both simply patrons at the moment, browsing the shelves of our favorite library. It is a wonderful place to hang out...
