Photographer's Note

We had our first snow of the season on December 5. When it snows this early in the season for us, the snow doesn't stay around very long so I only had a few days in which to get this photo if I didn't want to wait.

The barn and house are constructed of fieldstone and this was a common material used in building in the 1700's and 1800's. This style of building can be found throughout this area of Pennsylvania.

On a technical note, the photo has been cropped from the original to give it a landscape appearance. Since the day was cloudy, the sky appeared washed out in the photo so I added a gradient to it. Photo was converted to B&W and then Sepia. Levels were adjusted and unsharp maske were applied. Frame was added last.
