Photographer's Note

After a very steep 700m hike up to the summit of Mt Beerburrum, one of the glasshouse mountains, I was exhausted and my legs felt like jelly, but I was rewarded with this lovely view of the other glasshouse mountains and superb clouds.

"Glasshouse Mountains rise east of the Blackall Range in south-eastern Queensland. They lie from 56 to 80 kilometres (35 to 50 miles) north of Brisbane. Geologically they are known as volcanic plugs. There are 11 main peaks. Captain James Cook named the mountains in 1770 because their steep coneshaped outlines reminded him of glasshouses."
