Photographer's Note

My first post for 2007.

This was taken on the Yorke Peninsula. Where...??? I forget the place. Actually that's a good thing because it deserves to be kept a secret. It's the most amazing beach I have visited in the mainland of Australia.

Anyway it has maybe some of the best sand dunes I have ever come across. These are not just the restored dunes you get in the metropolitan places but real intact dunes with native flora and fauna. So I was very trigger happy and took as many photos as I could because it's not lasting forever.

It was really sad to find out the very dunes I was walking trough admiring the uniquness of them were for sale at a real estate agents in the town I stayed at. Large blocks destined for more... yes MORE houses.

People want to holiday at a place for seclusion and quiet. So in time there will be no where left coastal quiet and humble. Why cannot people make the effort in taveling to a place by foot or something to truly admire the quiet and desolation? Why has the very last remains of a natural community got to be further destoryed? I am just a bit sentimental right now.... but I have laid down publically a resolution.

Have a great 2007 and make this year the best you could ever imagine
