Photographer's Note

Blanchwater Ruins is on the Strezlecki Track on the road from Lyndhurst to Innaminka. This is a harsh environment on the edge of Sturt's Stony Desert. The Strezlecki Track (along with the Birdsville Track) were cattle routes from outback Queensland to the rail head at Marree in South Australia. Innaminka was the South Australian border taxation point in the 1800's. Blanchwater would have serviced this trade while running their own cattle. Now all that remains in this hostile setting are these ruins.

Scanned via an Epson RX700 from a slide taken in 1984. Camera would have been an Olympus OM2 with 50mm Zuiko lens, and Hoya polariser.

Just a touch to Levels and Blue Saturation to put back some of the colour.
