Photographer's Note

Brazil had many names during the early colonial times, one of them was "Land of Parrots".
Here we have a real-parrot, Amazona aestiva, a bird native of the eastern portion of Brazil.
The plant with pink flowers is a Calliandra brevipes, wild in south-southeast of Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Parrots like to eat its seeds and flowers.

O Brasil teve diversos nomes no início de sua colonização, um deles era "Terra dos Papagaios".
Vemos aqui um papagaio-verdadeiro, Amazona aestiva, nativo da porção leste do Brasil.
A planta de flores rosadas é uma Calliandra brevipes, nativa do sul-sudeste do Brasil, Argentina e Uruguai.
