Photographer’s Note

The thriving little fishing town of Pothia is a typically Greek settlement with its array of both ancient and modern buildings in many striking colours and beautiful architecture. It is the home to around 15,000 inhabitants and therefore one of the largest towns in the Aegean.

Pothias sheltered harbour is surrounded on three sides by the most amazing art-deco houses and hotels, splendidly painted in the warm colours of orange, yellow and pink.

The harbour area is a cluster of stalls selling sponges, loofahs and shells while children swim in the crystal clear waters and the colourful fishing boats bob up and down, making a wonderful backdrop...
