Photographers Note
Halfeti is an old town, where most of the villages were submerged in the 1990s under the waters behind the dam on the Euphrates at Birecik. With its historical beauty and submerged nature, it is an excellent touristic spot.
In the picture, the beautiful mosque is also submerged and not in use. The people of the villages moved to new towns. Although there are some people living there without electricity and tap water.
