Photographer's Note

This is a favourite place for townspeople and visitors alike to stop and enjoy a view of the little town of Langholm and its river, the Border Esk.Small enough to be as much a village as a town (population just over 2,000)this village can boast not a simple village pond with ducks but the river ,ducks and at least one semi wild heron. In the distance you can see a bridge with a road across it is named Telford Road (see workshop for a view across the bridge)after the famous engineer who was born close the town. The Scottish poet, Hugh McDiarmid was a Langholm man.Fifteen miles away, nestling in the hills of Eskdalemuir is the Tibetan monastry of Samye Ling .An interesting place to visit if you're ever in this part of the world. Here is a a< href= "http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/United_Kingdom////photo424570.htm"> view from Samye Ling I have posted previously.
The harsh light (despite my using a polarising filter) made me think twice about posting this one but I decided that you might enjoy the view and info' and its a while since I posted. This photo was taken a week ago and it's been glorously warm and sunny ever since.Enjoy the remainder of this Easter weekend.
