Photographers Note
The Byzantine Church of St. is one of the most attractive landmarks of OHRID, a charming small town near a lake with the same name, in Macedonia.
I was upset when the weather was not sunny that day, but I think I was rewarded with a dramatic sky. I desaturated all the picture rendered in Black and White here, except the church which retained it's original color. The big cross in the foreground was taken leaning to the left intentionally, I thought it would create a link with the church. Of course I used quite a big F Stop for a greater depth of field, and a tripod because it was a very dark day. I went again to the same spot 3 months ago, there was nothing to compare with the dramatic light, and the trees had grown up since, covering the church.

Nice compo, but i think all should be in b&w. Your title 'dramatic light', and only church is colored, so is the church dramatic ?...
But overall, i like your photo, the POV is excellent, the DOF nice. The cross gives dynamism to pic.
great capture, thanks for sharing.

Dramatic indeed! I like your PP, the church in colour is interesting. Looking at hugolef's workshop this is equally stunning in BW, perhaps even more so because we can see more of your initial product. I guess which is my way of saying this is a really great picture even without the PP!

A very interesting composition. I like much the point of view and the impressive thing of the church in color. The work of hugolef is well, but your option has more force.

impressive composition and a nice dramatic ngle of shoot from under the cross... journalistically, this could symbolize well the dark and sad recent history the country has lived...

what can one say for such a picture ; it is like a masterpiece.it can also try to give the B&W taste to B&W fanatics :-)
It stands like a religious poster , excellent shot.

Hi Izzet,
This photo has a peculiar effect on me. It reminds me of a film titled "Great expectations" directed by David Lean in 1946. It is the story of an orphan that run into an an escaped convict in a cemetery one night. The first scenes are very dramatic, with an impressive image of a big cross and the child being terrified by this unexpected encountered. The whole atmosphere is like you have portrayed in this picture... The low POV is excellent here, enhancing the dimension of the cross and the beauty of the church in the background. A very spectacular image!
Thanks.

Hi Izzet,
Very nice composition! And I like how you keep the color of the church to emphasize its balance with the cross. And good selection on the aperture, as you could maintain the clearness of the sky.
