Photographer's Note

Today I had a day trip down to Cumbria to meet one of my daughters and her husband. This was the first time I had visited the Lake District since we had a TE meeting there two years ago and I think I had almost forgotten the stunningly beautiful scenery which abounds there.

Unfortunately I didn't have much time to explore or take pictures, but we did have a walk from the little village of Rydal down to the east end of Rydal Water, the lake just beside it. Rydal Water is one of the smaller lakes in these parts, being less than a mile long and less than 400 yards wide at its widest point. This is looking westward from Rydal toward the Cumbrian hills.

The poet, William Wordsworth, lived in Rydal for much of his life and I shall try to post a picture of one of his houses later.
