Photographer's Note

Taken in the beautiful small village of Rydal in south Cumbria, just north of Ambleside, this is the Parish Church of St. Mary. It was built in 1824 by Lady le Fleming of Rydal Hall and the Lakeland poet, William Wordsworth, who spent most of his life living in this village, played a part in choosing the site which was originally an orchard.

I shall post a photograph from here of Wordsworth's home, Rydal Mount, later.

Click on the red text for A LARGER VERSION of this picture which can be seen on "Panoramio" and will, hopefully, soon be linked to Google Earth.
