Photographer's Note

This is the top of a 14-story octagonal shape landmark office building in downtown Buffalo. It was built in 1912 for the General Electric company and later used by Niagara Mohawk electric utility company. In 2004 a private developer purchased it and restored and modernized the building. In 2008 the developers received an award for “Best Historic Restoration,” for the revitalization of the Electric Tower. Now the building combines all of the modern amenities desired by its tenants. The style of the building is Beaux-Arts Classical Revival, its glazed white Terra cotta exterior, makes it highly visible. It is the seventh tallest building in Buffalo, and it is nicely illuminated after dark. A view of the full building is in the Workshop.
