Buddha shrines, stupas and pavilions serve as a backdrop to worshipers praying at the base of the Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar (also called Burma). Known as the "soul of the nation," the 2,500 year old pagoda is the landmark of Myanmar's biggest city.
