Photographer's Note

The Eastern elevation of Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia.

This is actually the "back" of the temple. We arrived early, to try to avoid the worst of the heat and the worst of the crowds. But we knew that as so many go to Angkor Wat for the sunrise, the front of the complex was likely to be heaving. So this is our arrival at the "back door". This eastern side was by contrast almost devoid of people, but I managed to include one lady sitting contemplating the beauty before her. If you have a look at the workshop, you'll see something of what we were trying to avoid!
