Photographer’s Note
Back to the blockhouse in my village.
Seen like this, behind the screen of trees and illuminated by the setting sun,I have the impression of a shy child, looking from the side of the curtain, before to venture ahead.

Hi Charles. Very nice hint of reflections here. The only thing I might change would to crop some of the sky out. Other than that small item it's a great shot Charles.

I love the foreground of this image, Charles, with the reeds right at bottom adn that log sticking out of the water. The tones are so nice and rich in the water. You might want to experiment with how much sky to leave in or crop out. Lovely light in the trees and building, too.

Hi Charles, You have very well captured the low angle sunlight in this picture. The sunlight highlighted the top of the tree branches as well as the building ahead. I like the description you have in your note. A well taken picture.

Bonsoir Charles

I find the water ripples make this scene enjoyable to view...and teh building with teh red roof. I would crop a litle off the top and see ifI could find an opening for more of the building in teh scene. A fine photo for your gallery. Thanks for stopping by!

Bravo.

Hi Charles,
Your note says it all - there's something in seeing the house being half-hidden; a glimpse, but without your note it could've been something else as well (maybe an estate house or even a small castle).
Good angle to catch the surroundings and to show its beauty!

Hi Charles,
Not Shyness neither timidity but a simple mood atmosphere with a quality of these atributes that you capture so well in a vertical frame. A setting time, good luminosity and perhaps a little nostalgic picture. The way you captured is according to the title and so I understand your heart, composition and real picture that you took very well and in a simple way.
Well seen, done and my congratulations.
Best Regards
Fernando

The light catches the shy house really well also enhancing its reflection in the water. The light catching the tree tops is also interesting, as is the texture caused by the ripples in the water. I would agree with some others that a crop at the top would be beneficial, but a fine shot nevertheless.

Hi Charles,
I agree with your note on the appearance of the blockhouse. I like this screened view. The subtle hues and tones of the water give great ambience, and the golden reflection of the structure also enhances. A bucolic, tranquil scene of autumn, soon to change to the crust and ice of winter. Your framing here is exquisite.

Bonjour Charles.
Celle-ci me donne sérieusement envie de visiter Coteau-du-Lac.
