Westpunt Pier Photo

Photographers Note

The best place to stay in Curaçao for lovers of Scenic landscapes, beautiful beaches, diving and snorkeling and nature is Westpunt where the north and southcoast meet. It's about 60 km from the capital and you can stay in the luxururious but small resort of Curai Hulanda or rent a house with a view.
This is the pier, where the fishermen unload. There is a lot of activity in Carribean pace.

Great textures in sea and sky for this shot showing us what appears to be very quiet activity at very slow pace. You mention in the note lots of activity, does not seem to be the case yet or it is just the pace that invades everything! Nice atmosphere where one would like to stay just looking at the sea and boat going in and out.

Hi Gerrit. what attracts me to this picture is the light. It makes the colours less harsh, rich but smooth. Hard to put into words-definitely different from European colours. Lovely composition with the figures clearly defined against the horizon. Regards. Klaudio.

Me gusta mucho la actividad que se ve en el pequeńo muelle al llegar los pescadores con sus presas para la venta. Bellos colores y muy buen POV. Una foto muy original.

Wat u hier ons aanbied is zonder meer een beauty, samenstelling en kleuren zijn groot en verzorgd, ook altijd leuk wanner er mensen op de boten aanwezig zijn, dit is allemaal prachtig. Interesting shot of daily Caribbean life. Just looking at the photo we can see the pace is slow. Good light quality too.

Hi Gerrit,
Warm hues and tones characterize this shot, further enhanced by the people lounging about the dock. I like the colour on the two boats on the left and how they balance the frame. There is enough variation in tone and action of the water in the foreground that you could allow a generous amount of watery area without cropping. Very fine work that resembles a painting.

I really like the way you've framed this;
the water tempts me from the foreground, the boats are artistically clustered around the pier and the clouds add interesting detail to the sky. Your DOF is so good, I want to walk down that pier.

Dag, Kerrit. Alles hier schijnt rustig te zijn, behalve voor die mannen waarvan sommigen zijn aan het werken. Het lichte centrale gedeelte komt goed uit op de zee en hemel en daardoor wordt onze aandacht onmiddellijk aangetrokken.

This is a great daily life shot and I love the colours in the water in the foreground.. There is a slight tilt, but the general ambiance of the shot is positive.
