Photographer’s Note
Tokyo from the 54th floor of Mori Tower in Roppongi Hills, an inner Tokyo suburb. The entry fee is a hefty 1,500 yen, but the view is worth it, imho. Shot through glass.

Hi Chris.
The only pity is the sharpness because the view is impressive!

At first glance i was going to say that it was too soft, but at a second glance it has an immense amount of detail which might account for this (i have the same problem with my last post!
But a good example of the streets of Tokyo. What's this Mori Tower? Is it the one with the observation deck? Have you considered posting this as a panoramic shot?
Update
Ah-ha, shot through glas...

Hi Chris,
yes, worth! Crazy capture but definitely good. More artificial light than stars in the sky I think. It seems a bit that the soft movement of those high towers is visible by the lights.

Hi Chris. You may not enjoy what I am about to write on this one - but I have been to this place, and it is really possible to shoot better photos there, artistically and technically.
Artistically, I find this to be a rather arbitrary and generic view of a megacity. Yes, of course the maze of lights and architecture is an interesting sight, but as a photo motive this is really not something that most of us haven't already seen a zillion times.
Technically, the photo is not sharp. To be honest, I don't care if it is Shot through glass or not. It is possible to shoot sharp photos through glass, and I am not sure what the expectation is in uploading an unsharp photo and adding this "disclaimer". Would you buy a calendar of 12 unsharp photos, as soon as you read "all photos shot through glass" on the package? I don't think so.
I don't mean to sound aggressive (and I hope you don't think I am), but I really think that giving the "great" smiley to this photo is nonsense; I prefer to not kid you (and everybody else) and give my honest opinion. I am convinced that you can and should do better than on this posting.

Olá Chris, spectacular view from such a fantastic high POV. A great festival of lights seen to the misty blackground. I actually enjoy the blurring set in the horizon and the grey/blue sky. Love such views. Very well done!

A light bomb of a photo Chris, interesting and well made cut from this large city. Good handling of the light through the scanner in the final result.

Hola Chris.
Impressive panoramic view of Tokyo, your POV is very good, a little more sharpness would be nice but your composition and multiple lights and colors are very good.
Well done. TFS.

Hello Chris,
Lots to see here! There is a certain softness, from having been taken through glass I guess, but this does not mar the overall image. Very good exposure management with no significant hotspots,

Hi Chris,
The myriad lights and innumerable structures really mesmerize the senses here. The city seems to stretch endlessly into the distance. The street on the left with the highest buildings helps balance the frame. Bold and brassy. I can hear the din. Well captured.

It must be a spectacular view from up there, as evidenced by this shot. The collection of lights is amazing, and the "arteries" of streets or highways are beautiful also. I agree that this could have been a bit sharper, but the slight softness doesn't bother me that much. I think this gives a sense of the one essential fact of Tokyo, that it is a huge and busy place. Thanks for sharing.

Bonsoir Chris
une vue trčs impressionnante qui malgré le petit manque de netteté est agréable ŕ détailler. J'aime ce genre de vue oů l'on domine. L'ambiance est excellente. Bravo

Hi Chris.
You shot with the tripod, but needs more sharpness.
And also for me is a but confusing.
Good idea, but should be improved.

Hallo Chris
impressive view, this city really dense and full of light
However I tend to agree with Norbert with his critics, and I think what you did in WS really have made the picture better, maybe you can make repost with it.

Hello Chris,
une photo qui manque énormément de netteté et on dirait qu'il s'agit davantage d'un problčme de focus, que de mouvement ou de bougé.
C'est dommage car le panorama est exceptionnel et les lumičres nocturnes bien rendues.
Best regards.
Daniel.

Namaste Chris
Spectacular view from the high POV. It's almost an explosion of light against the foggy blackground. The WS is definitely an improvement with the sharpness & my smiley for that

Hello
I like you picture because it is "NOT" sharp...
And when we see with our eyes...it is imposible to focus everywhere in the same time
For me, this is a good rendering of the atmosphere we have at this particular place...
And the multi red dots give a spacial impression and vivid vibrations
Thank you very much

And everytime there are some shots popping up out of your gallery that are really standing out, this one by the lights of the city at night, I suppose with a longer exposure, nicely taken Chris theough the window glass, incredible view over Tokyo.

Hello Chris!
Indeed, sharpness of this picture is not the best, but it gives some impression about endless size of this largest urban agglomeration in the world.
