Photographers Note

Like it or not, these buildings made by the spanish arquitect Calatrava has become kind of symbol for the city of Valencia. Here you can see two of the three constructions of the area called "City of arts" and built on the old river Turia. On the right it´s the hemisferic, which is used as an IMAX cinema, and on the left, the Palau de la Música, Palace of the music. THe third one (not in the photo), it´s the museum of sciences.
In my case, and from the first impression, you can count me among those who has loved the place. Of course I´ve not visited the inside, so my opinion could change.
For me there is another important point. It´s my first photo of Valencia, so tomorrow I will have another small spot of yellow in the map of Spain. I do like the idea to have more yellow, I wont deny it. It means you are discovering the world. This summer time here, it´s the moment for many of us to move up and down the world and this is fantastic because means we can learn, and to learn is the most fantastic sport in the world.

I have seen this building many times here already I just like it and it is spectacular any time of the day, with this angle you get double fluidity on the shapes of the succeeding parts, nice and clean photo.

Excellent work, Miguel. I love your "vacation" blue, both above and in the pool. Calatrava has also left his footsteps in Zurich just recently (this is where I live). It is a library (jurisprudence) and meanwhile visited by people from all over the world. Not to the likeing of the students and the staff who have to work and study there. Neverthelss, one of these days I will visit, and I try to be silent but I will take my camera along. I really enjoy your photo. Barbara.

Beautiful architectural picture. I like the shape of the buildings at the city of arts, you could capture these two domes very well. The reflection in the water is definitively a plus to your picture. Well done!

Excellent shot of this "interesting" architecture! The rippled water adds nice texture to the shot as well a balance and symmetry. The lighting and colors are great with nice sharpness and DOF.

Hola Miguel:

Creo que entre las artes (las de siempre, pintura, escultura y arquitectura) del siglo XX-XXI me quedo definitivamente con esta última: este juego con las formas, las líneas, los espacios es fantástico. La foto no lo es menos, el encuadre es muy bueno aprovechando el reflejo y la luz con mucha inteligencia y con muy buena técnica, pero sobre todo, buen ojo. Veo, no obstante, un pelín de ruido en el cielo, con pasarle sólo al cielo un filtro se arregla. Bellísima imagen.

Miguel, I never have seen this buildings before. It seems to be a quite daring architecture. Quite difficult to say by looking at your photography if I like the buildings or not. Something like that needs to be there and watch how the light during the day plays with the forms. Anyway, you certainly got an excellent moment to portrait it and the refelctions enhances this a lot. The strong graphic composition is a nice invitation to try it also in a contrasty B&W version.

Count me in as a lover for Calatrava architecture. Your photo is very beautiful. The Palau's eye is simply a very photogenic structure. Colors and sharpness are outstanding. Love it!

Looks like a kind of laying dinosaur, made of steel and glass... The head is in the Background. Impressive sunny light too.

Buenos reflejos y buena composición. La exposición es muy buena también.
Pero puestos a decir algún pero, el escenario es demasiado conocido y como tal no nos dice algo nuevo.

Hola Miguel,

Ahora mismo estarás por algún lugar de Tanzania, que suerte, sin embargo al leer esta critica tu viaje habrá tenido su fin, pero sin duda lo que has contemplado y te hayas traído contigo te hará sentirte diferente y especial.

La foto que nos muestras esta muy bien equilibrada, de luz y color y una buena composición, la imagen no sería la misma sin el agua, le da un aire diferente y más vivo, no conozco el lugar, espero algún día visitarlo, el cielo tiene unas ligeras imperfecciones tipo ruido que imagino serán debidas al postprocesado, pero esto no perjudica el trabajo.
