Photographers Note
We reached Kumortuli at Noon. Most of the Artists were taking a nap at that time. We were going slowly and seaching photograph. In one workshop I found there is a blueish light coming from an overhead plasticts used to prevent the idols under prepation. There were lot of idols and to make a good composition is bit difficult. I stayed there for a while and decided to take some selective view. I dont want to change the effect of light here. So I am uplosding with the tone I have had originally.
About Kumortuli:Kumortuli (also spelt Kumartuli, or the archaic spelling Coomartolly) is a traditionally potters’ quarter in northern Kolkata (previously known as Calcutta), the capital of the east Indian state of West Bengal. By virtue of their artistic productions these potters have moved from obscurity to prominence. This Kolkata neighbourhood, not only supplies clay idols of Hindu gods and goddesses to Kolkata and its neighbourhoods, but a number of idols are exported.

I love the hues here and the use of lights in what seem to be DP prepearations in full swing. ou have deployed your camera as a brush and kind of painted an image thats captivating.

Quite an amazing and powerful picture, Partha, the thumbnail jumps out at one. The monotone effect and the disjointed bodies creates a really surreal effect. regards kevin.

Hi Partha Da,
This is real beauty and I bow to your photographic talent. We have seen 100 of idol making pictures but yours is just perfect and a real gem. I especially like the tight composition, PoV and soothing blue light.
Dada, believe me it is a gem in idol making photos...

The gradiant deep blue to light green is a very effective eyepuller to the statues here shown Partha, excellent enhancing vibrant coloring and light progression here.

The colours give to this picture a surrealistic mood. The lion needs a dentist! :-)))

Hi Partha,
That's like a playground for photographers! It must be fun hanging around there since it's such a surreal location and you'll be able to find interesting points of view wherever you look!
The blue of the sheeting overhead does work well here and a good choice to not remove that!
Greetings, Dennis

Very good and striking atmosphere of this one I reckon. I like the cluster of the objects. It's packed but looks well. The domination the the blue is also something that I like very much. Bravo!
