Photographers Note

The last photograph from my latest outdoor shooting session last Saturday, here I tried a bit different pov and focal length than in the first one, to deepen the perspective and to make the color of the hyacinth field more uniform.

A hyacinth is any plant of genus Hyacinthus, which are bulbous herbs formerly placed in the lily family Liliaceae but now regarded as the type genus of the separate family Hyacinthaceae. Hyacinths are native to the eastern Mediterranean region. The Dutch, or Common, hyacinth (H. orientalis) was so popular in the 18th century that over 2,000 cultivars were cultivated in the Netherlands, its chief commercial producer. This hyacinth has a single dense spike of fragrant flowers in shades of red, blue, white, orange, pink, violet, or yellow.

The light is excellent in this image. The colours are also properly saturated to give the image a natural look. Excellent diagonals created by the rows of flowers. The view is pleasant and well composed. Thanks.

A superb deep perspective in this very fine composition. The rows of plantings lead the eyes inexorably to the vanishing point where sits the little white house. Colours and clarity are both magnificent giving full justice to the lovely blooms.

Dag Alexander,

De hyacinte velden zijn reeds in volle bloei, maar de tulpen zijn iets later dan verleden jaar.
U nam een zeer mooie foto, we zien hier een van de beste voorbeelden van perspectief.
Ook uw foto is mooi scherp, want we zien de camions rijden in de achtergrond.

Both of your hyacinth images are wonderful but I think I prefer this one for the extra depth in the scene from being further away. The detail and sharpness are immaculate. Well done

Schitterend, echt prachtig dit. Vooral ook omdat je het verkeer hebt meegenomen in de compositie. Natuurlijk brengen de sterke lijnen de echt tot zijn recht, maar ook het aanwezige licht doet wonderen.
Prachtige plaat. Als het weer meezit trek ik er aan het eind van een maand aan dagje voor uit om ergens in N-H wat opnames te maken.

What a colorful composition. I like your framing and POV. The DOF is ideal with sharpness from front to back. The cloud is also well positioned, according to the rule of the thirds.

Yesterday I spent some time with Sebastien (Sebinho_342) who told me about this photo, so I come to see it and guess what I like it of course, superb perspective converging to the house an excellent picture quality. Horizontal symetry could be an idea for the dynamic to look forward.

A typical image of Netherland during this tim eof the year. I wish I could at some point have the privilege to be there during this season to have such shots in my collection too. The colors are strong with a perfect dosage in saturation and contrast. The geometrical forms are simply great!

Hi Alexander.
Another fine shot of these hyacinths. More convergence and a dramatic perspective looking to the so called vanishing point. Very judicious sharpening, just right, and good composition with the focal point well to the upper left. I did like the pink-white combination in the earlier shot, less evident here. But still a marvellous shot.

I am not so fond of hyacinths and this rosy colour - eerrk - but it still is a strong photo, very graphical, well compopsed and with this unusual colour showing the taste - or lack of taste - of flower buyers.
