Photographers Note

After days and days of rain this afternoon at last some sun, so I had to take my bike and my camera...

Castle Sigmundskron (Castel Firmiano in italian) lays on a hill just outside Bolzano - Bozen. It was mentioned for the first time in 945 AD. In the 20th century it was a ruin for many years, though in 1957 a historic demonstration took place when many thousands german speaking people gethered there protesting aganist the politics of itlianisation of the central governement (but everything has changed since: see here). Nowadays (since 2006) the castle is a mountain museum lead by Reinhold Messner, the famous climber (see here - only in italian and german).

L'inquadratura č molto semplice e centrale, perň il gioco di luci e ombre da una bella tridimensionalitŕ.

Superb sharpness, with a good upward pov on the Castle Sigmundskron. I like the 3 primary colours of green red & blue. Tfs!

Located at the top of the hill affords the castle a wonderful position for defence. Your low POV works very well to emphasise its dominance. You also chose the perfect corner to photograph to make the best use of the light for good contrasts. I think I actually prefer the wider view you present in the WS as the dominance of the castle is even more apparent. A good all round presentation. Well done

Vista imponente, bella profilatura del castello rispetto al cielo. Trovo un'armonia compostiva notevole nonostante la presumibile finalitŕ ostentativa della costruzione.

Je suis passé ŕ côté de cette trčs belle réalisation, aussi, je vais me rattraper trčs rapidement pour dire tout le bien que j'en pense !
Cette motte féodale possčde fičre allure et semble passer les sičcles avec le plus grand bonheur.
Une trčs bonne et trčs intéressante prise de vue.
