Photographer’s Note
A round square?????
NO!!!!!!
large version
Don`t be disappointed when you visit Wroclaw and you can`t find this curve at the mainsquare "Rynek".
The square is square and the curve is caused by stiching 6 vertical shots together.
Have a nice sunday!!!

Hi Leo, my neighbour of today ;-)
It would be unfaire to call this a distorsion. Because it is so well done, you really have the feeling that the square is really like this.
I think you were right to mention it in your note ;-)
The colours of these buildings are really nice, full of joy, above all under this nice light and blue sky.

Marianne

Hi Leo,
I like the curve added by the stitching. I think is a bit confusing at first but very nice. Nice details and excellent point of view to compose this image. The six frames seem properly exposed and the colours very natural. Nice work Leo.

Bonjour Andreas,

Hi Leo
Very impressive perspective effect on this stitch. It like the way you said: the square is square. Funny...
Good mastering in the lightening control.

Hehe, interesting "curved" result using your camera and skills, Leo... But maybe the same result can obtained after having some beers, who knows... Once again, you nicely squeeze many of these attractive colorful facades in the frame... congratulations, Daniel

Hello Andreas,
The technique of your stitching is impressive making this round shape of the square nearly natural. Good thing to have some people passing by in front of these colorful houses.
The light is nice and the overall quality is very good.
Have a nice sunday.

Hej Leo,
the whole world is round by technical meaning so why wouldn't even a square be it.
Poland really have found there storehouse of colors and makes every city to the prettiest colorbook.
and you captured it well my friend.

Hi Leo,
I think you are one of the few members who post panoramas frequently and with efficient quality. I really like the effect of the stitching in this one. You compressed the view producing a very nice unreal perspective. Details are very good in the large version. Great job!

Hallo Andreas,
Although i like the effect, i would still prefer a straight view, but that's not that easy with such a large view. You need a lot of space around the top and bottom to straighten the buildings.
Anyway, as said i like this twist you made with it, those buildings really look beautiful.
I am off for few weeks (leaving tomorrow), heading to the west.

Hallo Leo,
On having read your note we realize that this curve of the buildings is not real, it is the result of a stitch that has created a curious effect of distortion.
But I like, even if the square was not squared and had this geometry, it would be a magnificent place.
Good work, it has quality and graphical strength.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Hallo Andreas,
Indeed the effect of the stitch is quite strong here, I sometimes get such an effect on some of my architecture panos but not as strong as here, maybe changing the projection might help if your software supports it, I use PTGui which is otherwise quite simple and good.
Apart from that the houses are just superb, light is good and exposure levelled.
Have a nice day JY

Hallo Andreas,

Hi, Leo. The distortion caused by the stitching creates a very nice effect, imo. The square looks like a real delight for photographers with all those pastel fronts and the splendid windows creating a nice graphism in the picture. The houses stand well out against the nice summer sky.
Have a nice evening,

Superb stitched panorama. Amazing detail and color. Great position for the camera as you get that narrowing effect to the left, making it a much better composition than if you'd started in the center.
