Nice attempt. The flower is a little bit blur because the DOF problem(the farther part of the flower is a little sharper) or actually you get too close that is shorter than the shortest distance you camera can handle. And also your shaking hands cause a little motion blur. Try to get a tripod and you'll get better result.

I guess the reflection was really nice, but it is ruined by the pixelating. Would you consider one with higher resolution?

I guess it is not in "Night Shot" mode. From my experience, "Night Shot" is only for shooting people near you at night. As I remembered, it can only have a maximum of 1/30s shutter speed and a filled flash, which is not enough for the above picture. Kirby probably shoot with Manual mode. Try out yourself. Shoot, change the settings and shoot again. That is why I love my digital. A little hint: Start with low f-number such as 2.8, 3.2 and shutter speed about 3 or 4 sec. It will be easier to frame the object correctly, then change the setting according to the exposure you got.
