Re: To lewiz: workshop.

Hi Alex,

I think you still need to edit this photo and allow workshops on this one too ;)

Thanks, Lewis

Re: To lewiz: Colours

Hi Daniel,
I don't think I could fix it in Photoshop... it looks as though maybe one of the colour channels has been pushed slightly around the tree... there is some funny blue and red colouring...

To Furachan: thanks

Thanks Francis,
I have to admit when I first posted this I was feeling a little disheartened at the response... after convincing myself it was because of a poor thumbnail, I'm glad you sort-of-maybe...

To happypoppeye: film

Hi John,

I'm a bit film fan too. This was obviously a good old fashioned B&W (TX400, I think) film, which is why I've got the gorgeous noise.
I've demoed a D2X, D80 and D200 in the past month...

Re: To lewiz: mark

Hi Mark,

There is a slight off-colour border around the fist... so the area where the top-left knuckle fades into the 'boke' there is a brilliant white, which is slightly out of place. I think if...

To yanseiler: thanks

Thanks a lot... I think this was the first and last photo where I did this and since then I've just said 'no'. But looking at this shot myself for the first time in ages, I'm surprised by how well...

Wow, that's pretty impressive :) I wish all my from-a-bus shots were as good as this!

To jinju: thanks

Hi Rafal,

Thanks for the comment... I deliberately burned the suit right down, I can bring plenty of detail back.

I was playing with uber-high contrast B&W for this shot...

Isn't it odd how...

To SebastianSeng: contrast

Hi Sebastian,

I've just posted an increased contrast version as a WS if you wanted to see what it might look like.

Thanks for the feedback.

To Clairedelune: contrast

Hi Claire,

I must admit, I don't know how they've built it... all around the cliff is a carved out pathway. I guess it must have been done quite some time ago and it must have taken a long time...

To flpanthers1: contrast

Hi!

It's odd you should ask that... they do now, but today this whole area is a bit of a tourist trap... some selective in-camera cropping might suggest otherwise, but it is.

I've put a bunch...

Hi John,

Thanks very much for your comment, it really means a lot. It seems like ages since I took this shot... it was practically a mistake in many ways!
But I think you're definitely right......

To rbcy1974: two minds

Hi Daniel,

Nice to hear from you :)
I was in two minds about this myself... I'm not sure why but I decided to keep him quite dark. It seems to give him a sort of other-worldly feel.
That said,...

Stop the war march, London (Saturday August 5)

Just wondering if anybody is going to be around tomorrow for the war demo. I'm going to try and head in for a little before the scheduled start (noon in Hyde Park) to grab a few shots.

If you're...

Re: How many photos do you take every day?

On an average walk around Manchester (which is where I mostly shoot due to lack of transport) I'll shoot up to 100 photos in a weekend. More often it's around 40 photos, though.

When I was in...

Re: Sharpening... last operation??

I actually don't remember Luko's technique... but I asked manny about his workflow and he mentioned it.
