Yes probably the use of the tripod was a bad idea because I extended the exposure times and with the terrible wind everything was not sharp.
In regard to the light, due to the focus on the area around the sun, I have achieved the effect which you mentioned. The bottom part became excessively dark but the sky has a nice color so the light is not so bad overall. So it is sharpness and definition which suffered a bit.
