Great bgladman 2004-03-28 17:19

I spent two weeks in Johannesburg last year; not a long time but long enough to see firsthand how many people there are suffering from poverty and illness. Thankyou for the picture and note Su.

PS it seems like amongst the kids there's a fairly high proportion of left handers - (or is wall painting an ambidextrous task). :)

Hi Brendan.

Thanx for commenting on my picture.

I always find it very interesting to see how other people see our country. And I sometimes think tourists would blithely go where no local would venture. (I would be very hesitant to go into Langa, for instance, but maybe because I'm female?)

Regarding dexterity: We used a paintbrush to apply the paint to our hands. You thus use your "clever" hand to apply paint to your "dumb" hand. The left-handed prints you see are of right-handed people and vice versa. My right-hand print means I am left-handed. *G*
