Great Royaldevon 2020-08-01 7:30

Hello Jorge,

There seems to have been a massive thrust against religion during the rise of Communism. I didn't realise just how many churches had been converted for more mundane usage!
This is a very beautiful building, its pillars, decorative details and domes giving it a grandiose appearance.
It works well in b&w, was this a conscious decision or a bit of an experiment?

Have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-)

yes, in those days communist government decided to kill religious people and destroy the buildings they used and rob the money of the church, most of the churches we see has a history of abandon, damages and transformation, many other were demolished and lost forever.
--that moment was so grey and the church was so white and I decided B&W was a good option.
26 infected people here yesterday, one of the guy who works with me is closed with his family at home, being investigated...

take care

jorge

It is very frightening, Jorge.
I hope you and your family are able to keep safe.

Out area is in lockdown, at the moment.
It is not really in our village but there is a spike in a town about five miles away!

My warm regards,
Bev
