Great mkamionka 2021-10-03 5:41

Hi Paul,
I have heard that swastika is still a popular symbol in India, I see also in Japan. In Europe the symbol has been taken over by Nazis and it will be always connected with them I suppose.
Nice focus on the detail of traditional roof.
Good colors and pleasant for the eye geometry.
Very well done,
M

Default To mkamionka: A symbol in many cultures

Thank you Mariusz,

The swastika is a symbol that originates from the Indus Valley Civilization.
It's a sign often used throughout history in many cultures worldwide and generally stands for life force, happiness or holiness.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the swastika was used worldwide as a symbol of prosperity and good luck.

Unfortunately, when Europeans see a swastika these days, they think of World War II and the Nazis.
I fear that the negative connotation in the west will not go away anytime soon…

Kind regards,
Paul
