To speedyturtle: rings
Hi,
They die if the rings are taken off, unless they place something else instead to hold the atrophied neck, which has lost all the muscle that we usually have and are replaced here by the firm hold of the rings. Anciently, if a wife had been caught cheating, the husband would take off her rings and let her die, I guess from suffocation. It is indeed a zoo, IMHO.
