Hello Paul!
you should never ask in SEA how long it takes even when you are in good condition like in your 20ies, especially at bus rides.Especially in India. Time does not matter, the next life will be better!
I had a strange experience in India in 2003. I was waiting at a platform for my train from Agra(Taj Mahal) to Dheli when there was an announcement in Hindi and english."the train has a delay of about one hour", nothing happened, nobody was angry.Noboday had a mobile phone then.
About 90 minutes later they repeated the announcement, another hour....
Finally I reached Dheli and had a fantastic diner at my hotel.I would have liked to have filmed that and compared it to today in a European city....
Best regards,Ronny
This fantastic view was your reward and this seems to be a fine place to have a rest.Hope you had enough, now lukewarm water with you.
The Ws photos are good ,too.
Regards,Ronny

Thank you Ronny,
I also remember that some journeys in India took much longer than anticipated. I will never forget a bus trip in the Himalayas in the 1990s that normally took 12 hours eventually lasted 20 hrs. And my train from Delhi to Amritsar (but coming from Agra) that was due to leave in the evening only arrived in Delhi in the middle of the night. Everyone at the platform had already prepared to spend the night on a bench. During my two recent trips in South India, things went pretty smoothly. Before starting a hike, I always ask how long it normally takes. I will double the time to know if I can make it the same day ![]() Best regards, Paul |
