Magic Morten! What a find! Whilst I like the picture you've taken I couldn't resist trying a workshop. Hope you don't mind. :)

Thanks Tina for your nice comments!
I wasn't on the back of a seagull, I AM a seagull... :) I'm actually standing on the dike of the beach. Yes going to Myanmar in February and can't wait! You have been there during that amazing journey of yours! Is there anything you absolutely would recommend, or something you would discourage me to do? Sabine |

Hi seagull,
About Myanmar and what to do and see depends on how long time you have. Maybe it was an idea to go and take a look on the internet or in Lonely Planet for festivals during the time you are there - it's usual colourful and a good experience. When I was in Myanmar there was a festival on Inle Lake so I planed my trip after that. I went to Yangon - Golden Rock - Mandalay - Hsipaw - Mandalay - Bagan - Inle Lake - Yangon. Highlights of my trip: Walking around in Yangon Renting motorbike in Hsipaw and went to the countryside Driving around on a bicycle in Bagan Festival on Inle Lake 3 days trek up in the mountains from Inle Lake - THE BEST!!! If there is something specific you want to know, pls. let me know. Have a nice evening. ;) Tina |

Thank you Tina for taking the time to write this down!
I have had a look in the Lonely Planet and there is no festival when I'm there (well not a big one anyhow). These tips are very helpful and I will surely do a trek in the mountains (did you have a good guide perhaps that you can recommend?) Thanks and have a lovely weekend! Sabine |

Hi again,
I stayed at the Bright Hotel.....a guesthouse with a lot of backpackers and a GREAT common balcony. I went trekking with a guy working at the guesthouse who had some family living up in the mountains. Unfortunately I don't remember his name. OH - don't forget the very "famous" bridge U Bein 's Bridge in Amarapura (11 km. from Mandalay). As fare as I can see on the internet, there are 2 festivals in February. "The Buddha Footprint Festival" at Minbu Magwe from 2nd - 14th and "Mahamuni Pagoda Festival" in Mandalay from the 12th - 13th. There are probably more. If you any other questions, just ask :) :) Tina |

Sorry me again :)
Oh wow, thank you so much, that is so kind of you to have looked for that festival - and found one! I should do a thorough search on the internet myself, but it seems my computer only finds one website...! (TE) Thanks for your help! I'll ask at the Bright hotel if they remember you :)) Bye!
