Your photograph is pure poetry! It deserves all the adulation I gave it and more. I cannot believe that more viewers have not recognized its power and beauty. (As for my writing, although I make my living as a scientist and artist, I also write books. My book, "Math and the Mona Lisa: the Art and Science of Leonardo da Vinci" (Smithsonian Books 2004) was translated into 12 languages. My newest book, "Leonardo's Universe," was just released by National Geographic Books, and as a marriage of the greatest art of our species, and the defining photography of the National Geographic, it is a masterpiece that Leonardo himself would have liked. This is not about my writing, and about the astonishing heritage of the Italian people.
