I would say this is a good 1st post, everything is well placed in your composition and frame of the trees above, good f/10 and focus of subjects. I like the comparison of the roof shape to the mountain, as high as it gets. And this low angle works nicely. A good 1st post.

Well, Peter, I just think it's a classic lens, as I'm sure you'll agree. It is a good deal smaller than its successors (lighter too) - color and contrast are beautiful, so is the bokeh funnily enough. By most accounts it thrashes the 17-35 that followed - I reckon it is easily on par with the 16-35 I (maybe the "II" is sharper in the corners). Only significant downside - the 50mm minimum focusing distance, which is not a real problem in people photography - hell closer than 50mm and you're gonna get punched or kissed...;o)
