Looks good. Strange tower. Sort of an small umbrella. How did you make an appointment to go up?

Default To startacked: Travelogue...

Gilbert,

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my old California shots.

How I got to go up in the tower is a long story and most of it is explained in my travelogue Sout hern California in Spring 2003 which is created around the photos.

On short it was handled by Washington; I had to specify where and when I wanted to visit; a specific date and time was given for each visit; my visit was advised and I was to meet with a special person.

So it's nothing you try to do "when passing by" - those days are long gone... I tried to make a visit to the Lufthansa B747 cockpit on the flight over. Despite passport, ATC license and a letter of recommendation from the Swedish CAA, they did not accept any visitors on flight deck. Too bad, but I understand them.

Best regards,
Kaj

Thanks Kaj, I love the way you wrote your travelogue, I was just as excited when I was visiting California many years ago. I wasn't even dreaming about going up the tower. I work at an airport and it's almost impossible for me to go up out tower. Thanks and anjoy your retirement!

Regards,
Gilbert
