Great rabani 2009-11-11 21:06

Hi Urs,
I like very much editorial related photos. It tells how thing is elsewhere and unlike the "I was here" photo which is generally the " shoot & go" theme of guided tourists. This is a thoughtful composition exposing the winged friends milling around leftovers offered by the temple's devotees.

Default To rabani: Pigeons feast at Kuan Yin

Hi Rabani

As I wrote in my intro I'm working and living in Asia since 1982. Due to job I currently have 2 residence, one in Alor Star and the other in Bangkok. By end of the month we will go back to Bangkok for about 3 months and then return to our house in Alor Star, stay for 4-5 months, with a stay for 3-4 weeks in Bangkok to cover the Motor Show. That's how we shift between the two residence. Certainly we both - my wife and myself - are Swiss, but we do not consider ourselves as tourists in this region as we living here for some time. Consequently my photography most probably is a different, moreover I work for the DPA Fotoreport. This shot was not so easy due to the strong backlight, this shot was probably the best with the pigeons. Earlier I uploaded another shot of this temple which I took minutes before this one. There you see, that a heavy downpour was approaching and we both got wet soon after this pigeon shot. Thanks for your critique.

Best regards from Alor Star
