Great macjake 2021-05-23 11:30

Hi Paul
Cambodia would for sure be a very interesting place to visit...is it like Thailand where there are pockets of richness, then pockets of poverty...all mixed together? I remember being in Bangkok and I turn to my right and it looks like Down Town Las Vegas, I turn to my left and it looks like the poorest country on earth. anyways...you have yourself here a wonderful scene, very photogenic. My fav part are the circular ripples in the water. really sweet shot. cheers
Craig

Default To macjake: Inequality

Thank you Craig,

Has it been a long time since you visited Thailand?
I have only visited a limited number of places in Thailand and was certainly not shocked by the poverty. But I don't know enough about the country to be able to judge properly.

In Cambodia the difference between rich and poor was very big.
In addition, I have to say that you will not see rich people in most places.
But I remember a modern shopping center in Phnom Penh where everything was for sale and that was visited by many Cambodians who could afford it all.
In most places, however, the country appears very poor.

The inequality between people seemed less great in Laos.

Best regards,
Paul
