Photographer's Note

The islamic call of prayer (Athan-Adhan) is one of most visible -or let say audible- component in islamic public space. The call of prayer by modulating the time of each day (happening at the begining of each prayer time, five times per day), allows reminding muslims about their continuous relation to the sacret, to the Creator.
By that, the call of prayer obtained a great symbolic which was traducted by building high and elegant towers to that purpose. They are called : Minarets.
In the past, Muezzins (people who had the ability to do this public call to prayer)had to clumb to the rise of minarets to accomplish the call.
Today, the muezzin can do the call inside the mosque and loudspeakers have to do all the rest :)
