Photographer's Note

This picture was shot between noon and 2PM in the same wadi as this one. Plentiful vegetation grew during the summer (It rained during July and August). In the meantime it dried and turned yellow but it survives awaiting a rain. Plants and trees have almost no leaves : The acacias and the grass one sees here are all thorns and spikes. They present as little surface as they can to the evaporation and defend them selves against the hunger of the herbivorous. Still camels don't give a damn and savour acacia thorns that are so hard they can pierce the sole of your shoes. I have been told it rained during January. Vegetation grew and bloomed back again.
To picture the sky, B&W doesn't suffer from the bright midday light. The yellow filter helps showing the clouds.
